Ukrainian Foreign Ministry advises West to tighten sanctions against Russia
Western countries should apply a third package of sanctions against regarding Russia, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
"In this case we think that harsh measures in the form of sanctions - the third stage of which was announced for a while by the United States and the European Union - should follow after Russia's recent actions," Ukrainian Foreign Ministry information policy department director Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing on Tuesday.
It is evident that Russia does not intend to assist de-escalation of the situation in Ukraine, he said.
"From our point of view, nothing can be expected from Russia. It [Russia] made it perfectly clear that it does not intend to stop such activities and, in our point of view, the only thing that could affect Russia is harsher sanctions in the third package, in other words related to sector aspects," Perebyinis said.
