Authorities: All is quiet in Donetsk, city life normal

All is quiet in Donetsk on Friday morning, the Donetsk regional administration's Web site reports.

"The city is living a normal life: municipal transport is operating, preparations for the upcoming heating season are in full swing, enterprises are functioning in the regular regime, preschool institutions are open and school summer camps are at work. Traffic police and patrols stay alert," the report runs.

Meanwhile, the press service of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic said earlier the Ukrainian army tried to break into Donetsk from a residential area in the early morning hours of June 13.

"The Ukrainian army clashed with our militia at a roadblock in the Tekstylschyk neighborhood at 0400. There was heavy gun, mortar and grenade launcher fire," the source said.

"Militia managed to deter the attack," the press service claimed.
