Kyiv defense battalion going to eastern region – Bondarenko

The Kyiv territorial defense battalion is on its way to the Donbas, head of Kyiv City State Administration Volodymyr Bondarenko has reported.

"Today our battalion is going to the east: after the necessary rotation, guys who have been trained go to war today," he said at a press conference hosted by Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

According to Bondarenko, 430 private soldiers and 32 officers are members of the battalion.

He said that the battalion is completely equipped, trained and combat-ready due to charitable and sponsorship funding.
