Authorities working on election district No. 8 in Donetsk region to open, says Turchynov

Another election commission No. 8 in Donetsk region could be opened, Speaker and Acting Ukrainian President Oleksandr Turchynov has said.

"Seven district commissions are working in Donetsk region, and two – in Luhansk region. We do not rule out that that election commission No. 8 could start working. We're working on this anyway," Turchynov told reporters after casting his vote in Kyiv.

He said that attempts to disrupt the holding of the extraordinary presidential election on Sunday are being made in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"Thousands of polling stations are working, despite of threats and attempts of terrorist acts," Turchynov said, adding that the most difficult situation with the election in large cities – Donetsk, Luhan s k and other cities.
