Presidential elections in Ukraine of great importance for stabilization in country – Barroso
President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso has said that the forthcoming presidential elections in Ukraine scheduled for May 25 are of great importance for the stabilization of the situation in the country.
"Free and fair presidential elections in Ukraine on 25 May are of great importance for the stabilization of Ukraine, and also for the stability in the region, and we expect that everyone will respect those elections," Barroso said at the press conference in Brussels on Wednesday after the meeting with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili.
