Over 400,000 Ukrainians wish to vote abroad on May 25 – Ukraine's Foreign Ministry
Over 400,000 Ukrainian citizens abroad have expressed a wish to vote during the presidential elections in Ukraine on May 25, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.
"Today we can see the full readiness of the foreign polling stations. I remind you that 114 polling stations were created at the diplomatic and consular establishments of Ukraine. Over 400,000 citizens of Ukraine abroad expressed their desire to vote, and will be able to do that," director of the ministry's information policy department Yevhen Perebyinis said.
He also noted that overall, 2,784 international monitors have been registered to work at the presidential elections in Ukraine, including 2,502 from international organizations and 282 from foreign countries.
According to Perebyinis, such a great amount of the monitors at the forthcoming elections demonstrate solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and world's recognition of how important these elections are for the future of Ukraine.
