Hague: More sanctions against Russia in pipeline

UK Foreign Secretary William Hague urged Russia to use its influence to de-escalate the situation in the east of Ukraine and disarm the militants, or face more tough measures.

Addressing the UK parliament in London on Tuesday, he said that additional sanctions against Russia are being prepared, and that the European Union is ready to impose them if needed.

Hague added that planning for a range of wider economic and trade measures is "at an advanced stage" and will be applied if the crisis in Ukraine exacerbates.
