EU ready for additional sanctions against Russia – Van Rompuy
European Council President Herman Van Rompuy has said that further destabilization in Ukraine will lead to the use of additional sanctions against Russia.
"Further steps in destabilizing Ukraine will call for additional sanctions. The EU is ready to take decisions, if needed," he wrote on his Twitter page.
In this regard, Van Rompuy called for a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
"The EU and Japan will continue to coordinate their position within G7, also on sanctions," he said, while commenting the agreements that were reached as part of the EU-Japan summit, which took place in Brussels on Wednesday.
