Ukrainian Security Service probing attempt to seize power by certain politicians - statement

The Ukrainian Security Service has started a pretrial investigation into unlawful actions committed by certain politicians aimed at seizing power.

"The Ukrainian Security Service's main investigative department is conducting a criminal proceeding under Ukrainian Criminal Code Article 109, Part 1 [actions aimed at violently changing the constitutional system or seizing power]," the Security Service said in a statement.

Those found guilty of the said charges may face up to 10 years' imprisonment.
