Lutsenko waiting for final expert analyses in Maidan cases – meeting with NGOs
Ukraine's Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko during a meeting with leaders of non-governmental organizations focusing on Euromaidan protests said he is waiting for final expert analyses in criminal cases dealing with shootings near Independence Square in Kyiv in February 2014. He said the investigation is in large measure over.
"The Prosecutor General said cases of mass shootings on Maidan in February 2014 are mostly complete, except for final expert analyses, spokeswoman for the prosecutor general Larysa Sarhan said on her Facebook page on Thursday, August 2.
Meeting participants also discussed the reorganization of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO), in particular the Department of Special Investigations, headed by Serhiy Horbatiuk, who will continue to investigate the Maidan cases.
The meeting was attended by the head of the NGO Family of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred Volodymyr Bondarchuk, the father of the Heavenly Hundred hero Ustym Holodniuk and coordinator of the activist group helping persons wounded on Maidan Pavlo Kucher. The parties agreed to meet again.
