No docs from UN on sending envoy to Ukraine, says ministry
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has not received any official paper over the sending of a United Nations special representative to Ukraine to assist in crisis resolution.
"I have no knowledge of any official UN letter on sending its special representative to Ukraine," Director of the Foreign Ministry's Department of Information Policy Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing on Tuesday.
The dialogue between Ukraine and UN representatives is held on a continual basis, he added. In particular, President Viktor Yanukovych met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on February 7, the diplomat recalled.
On January 27, the UN secretary general expressed willingness to send a special UN representative to Ukraine to take part in the dialogue between the authorities and opposition.
