Barroso, Yanukovych have phone conversation

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych have had a phone conversation.

European Commission spokesperson Olivier Bailly said at a press conference in Brussels on Thursday that they talked about the situation in Ukraine.

"There was a phone conversation in which the president expressed concern about the situation and called for an urgent high-level dialogue," he said.

Other details of the conversation were not announced.
