Interior Minister apologizes to Ukrainians for excessive use of force in dispersing Euromaidan

Ukrainian Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko has apologized to Ukrainians for the excessive use of force on Independence Square in the early hours of Saturday.

"On behalf of the board members and myself I would want to bring apologies for the excessive use of force against participants in the action on the square… I would want to say that energetic action was not part of the Interior Ministry plan," he said at a Sunday session of the Interior Ministry board.
