Yanukovych: Ukraine to produce enough gas for domestic needs by 2020, may start exporting it
Ukraine is currently actively cooperating with international companies in oil and gas production, thus significantly enhancing the country's energy security, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
"The implementation of large-scale projects by Shell and Chevron corporations (by the way, the agreement with the latter will be signed today) will allow Ukraine to start producing enough gas to cover its domestic needs by 2020, and under the optimistic scenario even export these energy resources," Yanukovych said in Kyiv on Tuesday while opening a meeting of the council of national and foreign investors.
