Ukrainian president concerned about gender inequality in payment for labor
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has pointed to the existence of gender inequality in payment for labor in Ukraine.
"This issue is the most sensitive for us among all of our international obligations under the Millennium Development Goals," Yanukovych said at a meeting to mark the Day of Social Work in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"In general in the country, women get paid 22% less in industry, 30% less in the spheres of housing and utilities and culture, and 41% less in the communications sphere."
