Tymoshenko issue settlement a problem from legal, political viewpoints, says Kozhara
The settlement of the issue of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is a problem from the political and legal viewpoints, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara has said.
"A legal basis has to be created in Ukraine in order to make the settlement of the Tymoshenko issue realistic," he told journalists following a meeting between Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle in Kyiv on Thursday.
Asked whether finding a solution to the problem was a political issue, Kozhara said: "Millions of people in this country think that Tymoshenko committed a crime."
He also stressed that the Tymoshenko issue can be settled only in line with the Constitution of Ukraine and Ukrainian legislation.
