Tymoshenko's agreement to treatment in Germany 'excellent news' facilitating signing of Association Agreement, says EU expert
Expert from the European Policy Center Amanda Paul has described former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko's agreement to travel to Germany for treatment as "excellent news" that opens to Ukraine a door to signing the Association Agreement with the EU.
"This is not just good news, this is excellent news awaited by everyone. This will open the door to the signing of the Association Agreement for Ukraine. This is fantastic news. Congratulations!" she said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.
In connection with this, the expert expressed the hope that Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will make "a quick and right decision."
"The green light has been given to him," she said.
As reported, Tymoshenko accepted a proposal to undergo treatment in Germany from former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and former European Parliament President Pat Cox.
