IT development in Ukraine to strengthen its relations with US, says ambassador
The development of the IT sector in Ukraine will strengthen the country's relations with the United States, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt has said.
"Such institutions as Bionic Hill [innovation park] can drive strategic partnership," he said during the official ribbon-cutting ceremony at BIONIC University in Kyiv on Friday.
According to him, Ukraine is one of the countries that train the highest number of IT experts, falling behind the U.S., India, and China.
"You can foster the sphere that will make its contribution to Ukraine's well-being and strengthen relations between our countries," the diplomat said.
Pyatt also mentioned the problem of the protection of intellectual property rights in Ukraine.
"I strongly believe that U.S. companies will consider progress in the IT sector as the basis for their cooperation with Ukrainian peers," Pyatt said.
