Eight Ukrainians injured in Belarus car accident still in grave condition, says Foreign Ministry
Nine Ukrainians injured on Sunday in a road accident in Vitebsk region in Belarus are in local hospitals, with eight of are in a serious condition.
"As of Monday morning, of the nine injured who are in hospital, eight are in a grave condition," Interfax-Ukraine learned at the Foreign Ministry's press service on Monday.
According to the ministry, the eight Ukrainians are in Orsha city hospital, Vitebsk region. Another Ukrainian, who received less serious injuries, was taken to Vitebsk regional hospital.
As reported, an Opel Omega with Russian license plates crashed head-on into a Mercedes Sprinter minibus with Ukrainian license plates near the village of Babinichi, Orsha district, Belarus on July 28. The driver and all four passengers of the Opel Omega – citizens of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan died at the scene. Four Ukrainians from the minibus also died, and another nine were hospitalized.
An inquiry has been launched into the accident.
