The Kirov Regional Court has upheld the prosecutor's appeal against the arrest of opposition activist Alexei Navalny, who was sentenced to five years in jail on embezzlement counts.
The court decided that Navalny and the other defendant, Pyotr Ofitserov, must be released with travel restrictions until their sentences entered into force.
