Yanukovych orders to stir up replacement of imported gas with Ukrainian-made coal
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has ordered Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov to ensure the creation of an interagency working group on the replacement of imported natural gas by Ukrainian-made coal, which is to devote itself to the issue of stirring up the realization of the said projects.
The order on boosting sales of steam coal, introducing progressive technologies in the area of processing and use of energy resources, replacing of imported natural gas by alternative types of fuel was published on the Web site of the head of state on Thursday.
According to the order, the working group will include representatives of the interested central and local executive power agencies, specialists of scientific institutions and research centers of the correspondent profile.
The president ordered the working group by June 7, 2013 to analyze the state of the realization of projects and reveal problematic issues, define the approximate list of sites for the introduction of coal gasification technologies, ensure the drawing up of a feasibility study for the projects and the specifics of the required equipment for their implementation.
In addition, we should define the volumes and resources of financing of measures on the realization of the projects and discuss the attraction of funds from foreign investors, including international financial organizations.
