Maintaining family traditions priority for Ukraine's authorities, says Yanukovych
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has made an address to the nation on the occasion of the International Day of the Families, which is celebrated on May 15.
"Ukraine has always been known to respect family values, where the family is the main bearer of morality, culture, and historical continuity of generations. At present, the preservation of family traditions, teaching children and youth to respect marriage and parenthood remains a priority for both the public and public authorities at all levels. I sincerely wish every family a happy destiny, wealth, peace and harmony," reads a statement posted on the official Web site of the president on Wednesday.
