Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: Criminal case opened over killing of Ukrainian doctor in Zambia
A criminal case has been opened on the murder of Ukrainian citizen Serhiy Movchan in Solwezi (Zambia) on May 7, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported on Monday.
The ministry's information policy department reported on Monday that according to preliminary reports obtained from Solwezi police, Movchan was killed during a robbery. On May 10, the body of the deceased man was taken to Lusaka (Zambia) for forensic examination.
"The results of an examination on May 11 showed that gunshot wounds were the cause of death," reads the statement.
According to preliminary information, the repatriation of the body of the deceased to Ukraine will be carried out by the Zambian Health Ministry, as it was the dead man's employer.
