Lutsenko wants to see Tymoshenko as soon as possible
Former Ukrainian interior minister Yuriy Lutsenko wants to see ex-prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko as soon as possible, said lawmaker Arsen Avakov of the Batkivschyna party.
"Yuriy Lutsenko has just called. 'Tell her, if you are there, that I have been freed. Arsen, tell her I want to see her immediately and I will do this first thing, by all means!" Avakov quoted Lutsenko as saying on his Facebook page.
"Emotions are spilling over. We are so happy you are free, Yuriy!" he wrote.
Reports said earlier that President Viktor Yanukovych pardoned several prisoners on April 7, among them former interior minister Yuriy Lutsenko.
A few hours later Lutsenko was freed from a prison in Chernihiv region, where he was serving his term.
Avakov and journalists arrived at the hospital in Kharkiv where Tymoshenko is undergoing medical treatment on April 7 after Tymoshenko urged reporters on Saturday to come and attend the procedure of drawing up an act documenting her alleged refusal to travel to court.
