Reform policy bringing positive social effect, says Yanukovych

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has started giving a press conference at the Ukrainian House in Kyiv.

He began with a commentary on the results of social and economic reforms implementation in Ukraine.

"Generally speaking, the reform policy has brought us positive social effect," he said.

Yanukovych added that direct administrative control of the government has been relaxes, which allowed cutting down on number of permits for business activities.

The president stressed that administrative reform would be continued.

According to the presidential press service, 396 journalists, including 259 reporters from the central and foreign media, were accredited for the press conference.

Representatives of the Stop Censorship movement also came to the event.

In 2012 Yanukovych had to cancel a press conference at the Ukrainian House due to protests against the adoption of the language law in Ukraine.
