Berkut riot police guards floor where Tymoshenko's ward is located, says MP
Employees of the Berkut riot police are guarding the entrance of the ninth floor of Kharkiv-based Central Clinical Hospital No. 5, where former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is undergoing treatment, Batkivschyna parliamentary faction MP Volodymyr Shulha has said.
"We saw some 20 Berkut employees guarding the door there. No one knows why 20 Berkut employees are staying at the hospital. I think their presence there has no sense," the MP told an Interfax-Ukraine reporter.
He added that he and other Batkivschyna faction members had met with the hospital chief, Mykhailo Afanasyev, to ask him about Tymoshenko's health condition.
"He said that her condition was stable, but the pain syndrome had not disappeared," Shulha said.
The doctor also told the MPs that Tymoshenko was still staying in the bathroom.
