Tymoshenko feeling much worse, says her defense counsel
The health condition of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has sharply deteriorated, according to her defense lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko.
"She is in the bathroom (where the ex-premier is holding her protest action). When I went there, I thought she was dead, she did not react to my presence and did not recognize me for two minutes," he told reporters in Kharkiv.
The defense lawyer said that he immediately called for the chief doctor.
According to him, three officers of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General's Office had broken into Tymoshenko's room before this. Vlasenko believes they went into the room to conduct investigation activities.
Two people video recorded their visit, Vlasenko said.
Mykhailo Afanasyev, the head doctor of the hospital, has flatly opposed all investigative actions, he said.
"I am very thankful to Professor Afanasyev, who said very toughly that no actions can be performed," the lawyer said.
Vlasenko reiterated that the situation with Tymoshenko's health is critical.
