UDAR branch in Chernivtsi holds motor rally against Ukraine's accession to Customs Union

Members of the UDAR Party's branch in Chernivtsi held a motor rally during a meeting of the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Russia, during which, in particular, the sides discussed cooperation between the two countries as part of the Customs Union, the party's press service reported on Monday.

The motorcade led by the head of the Chernivtsi regional branch of the party, MP Roman Vanzuruiak, was running in the city with symbols and slogans: "Chernivtsi is not a Political Ground," "No to Historical Mistakes," "We're a Nation, We're Independent, We're Ukrainians," "Ukraine - European Choice."

"The Kharkiv Agreements, the language law and integration into the Customs Union are a betrayal of Ukraine's national interests. The giving up by the current authorities of the EU integration course is not only a violation of the constitution, but also ignoring the will of the Ukrainian people. Indeed, 48% of Ukrainians supported the entry of our country to the European Union, as evidenced by the results of sociological surveys," Vanzuriak said.

According to the MP, Chernihiv City State Administration tried to restrict in court the holding of rallies on the day of the meeting of the foreign ministers.

"To avoid any protests, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry even tried to mislead residents of Bukovyna by changing the date of the visit of the ambassadors to Chernivtsi," he said, adding that the Chernivtsi regional branch of the UDAR Party "quickly responded to the changes and held the rally on time."

As reported, in Chernivtsi on January 13, the foreign minister of Ukraine and Russia held the seventh meeting of the subcommittee on international cooperation of the Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission.
