Kyiv police conducting pre-trial investigation based on statement from Razvozzhayev's lawyer about his alleged abduction
Solomianske district department of police in Kyiv is conducting a pre-trial investigation based on a statement received from a lawyer for Russian opposition activist Leonid Razvozzhayev regarding his alleged abduction.
"Solomianske district department received a cover letter from the prosecutor's office of the Solomiansky district. The prosecutor of the Solomiansky district ordered the holding of a pre-trial investigation, which was registered in the unified register of pre-trial investigations on November 22, 2012," the head of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's media liaisons department, Volodymyr Polischuk, told Interfax-Ukraine on Saturday.
He noted that during the investigation, Ukrainian law enforcement officers had received official information from border guards that Razvozzhayev voluntarily crossed the border at a checkpoint, presenting his documents.
