Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Kliuyev and First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Iryna Akimova have said they will not take up their parliamentary seats.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) at a sitting on Monday announced that Kliuyev and Akimova would not receive parliamentary seats, as they had officially refused them.
CEC member Mykhailo Okhendovsky said that on December 3 Kliuyev and Akimova submitted relevant documents officially confirming that they would not take up their parliamentary seats.
The CEC also registered as people's deputies the next candidates on the party list of the Regions Party – Ivan Popesku (No. 73) and Ishtvan Haidash (No. 74).
Akimova and Kliuyev were elected to the Verkhovna Rada under the Regions Party's list.
