Ukraine allocates UAH 1 m in humanitarian aid to victims of armed conflict in Syria
The Ukrainian government has allocated UAH 1 million in humanitarian aid to the victims of the armed conflict in Syria, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.
"On November 7, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution to provide UAH 1 million in humanitarian assistance to individual countries in the Middle East," the director of the ministry's information policy department, Oleh Voloshyn, said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
He said that this assistance would be provided through UN mechanisms to the countries in which there were persons affected by the conflict in Syria.
"Ukraine shares the deep concern over the situation in Syria, and thinks that one key task is to protect civilians, women and children," Voloshyn said.
