Condoleezza Rice sends letter of support to Tymoshenko
Condoleezza Rice, the 66th United States Secretary of State, has sent a letter of support to former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, the Ukrainska Pravda online publication reported.
"Dear Yulia, I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. The world is watching the events concerning your imprisonment, and many are advocating on your behalf," reads the letter, a copy of which was published by Ukrainska Pravda.
"I remember well the many times that we met, and I look forwards to the day when we can meet again," Rice said in her letter.
"Please know that until then, I will think of you and pray for your health and release," reads the letter.
According to Ukrainska Pravda, Rice passed the letter in September, when she visited Ukraine to participate in a meeting organized by the Yalta European Strategy. At the meeting, the former U.S. Secretary of State did not greet Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and ignored the official photographing ceremony.
