Spain to send new batch of generators to Ukraine on the eve of winter
José Manuel Albares has announced that in the coming days a new batch of generators will be sent through the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) to help Ukraine survive the winter amid a wave of Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.
"On the eve of the new winter, it is necessary to ensure the stability and operability of the electricity system. The Spanish Cooperation Agency has planned 70 new generators, which will be sent to Ukraine in the coming days to provide electricity and heating in this winter, which is predicted to be severe," the minister said during a media briefing before the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg on Monday.
Albares said he will meet with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha on Monday, to whom he will personally convey information about support for Ukrainians.
