Three power lines damaged in Zhytomyr blast in Ukraine, 735 homes without electricity
Three 10kV power lines were damaged in the wake of the explosions near Zhytomyr, according to Zhytomyroblenergo.
"Around 18:00 today, an explosion occurred near the village of Berezyna in the Hlybochytsia community, damaging three 10kV power lines and disabling 50 transformer substations (10/0.4kV). As a result, 735 homes are currently without electricity," the company reported on Facebook.
Nine emergency repair teams, fully equipped, are working on restoring power.
As reported, the blasts occurred near Berezyna at about 18:00. The regional military administration initially confirmed two dead and 15 injured. Regional governor Vitaliy Bunechko later clarified that there were two explosions, although the exact locations have not been officially disclosed.
