UAH 2.5 bln to be distributed monthly among Ukrainian brigades for purchase of UAVs – Umerov

In December 2024, the Ministry of Defense transferred UAH 1.1 billion directly to the combat units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the purchase of drones. Having analyzed this experience, it was decided to scale up the initiative, said Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

"This allowed us to quickly meet the needs of our brigades and strengthen the diversification of centralized management. We analyzed this experience and decided to scale up the initiative. Today, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the proposal of the Ministry of Defense. Now, UAH 2.5 billion will be distributed monthly among the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades for the purchase of UAVs," Umerov wrote on Facebook.

According to him, unit commanders will be able to use these funds to purchase exactly those drones that are most effective for performing tasks at the front. The Minister pointed out that "this is another step towards creating a maximally flexible system for providing the military with everything necessary to protect Ukraine."
