UN to provide Donetsk region with 200 long-burn furnaces

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees has transferred to the Oleksandrivka community the first batch of the 200 long-burning furnaces planned for Donetsk region, the head of the regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, has said Friday.

"Donetsk region will receive 200 long-burning furnaces from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. The Oleksandrivka community has received the first batch," he said on the Telegram channel.

According to the official, such furnaces will be delivered to the Bilozerske, Dobropillia, Illinivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Novodonetske, Pokrovsk, Slovyansk, and Shakhove communities, as well as the Water of Donbas regional municipal enterprises and the Donetsk Regional Waste Management Center.

Filashkin also noted that the long-burning furnaces will be installed in certain locations that determined in advance. Their special design allows not only to provide the buildings with heat, but also to cook food on them in case of need.

"I am sincerely grateful to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees for its assistance and special attention to the needs of Donetsk region. I hope for further fruitful cooperation," he said.
