Ukrainian air defense shoots down six Shahed drones, two X-59/69 missiles at night – Ukrainian Air Force
On the night of September 9, the enemy attacked Ukraine with three X-59/69 guided air missiles from the airspace of Kursk region (Russia) and occupied Donetsk region and eight Shahed strike UAVs also from Kursk region (Russia), the Ukrainian Air Force Command reported on Monday morning.
"As a result of the air combat, two X-59/69 guided air missiles and six Shahed-type strike UAVs were shot down," the report states.
As the military specified, two enemy drones were locally lost on the territory of Ukraine (presumably they fell under the influence of electronic warfare systems). Also, as a result of active counteraction, one of the X-59/69 missiles did not reach its target.
Air defense was in operation in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
