European Commission President congratulates Ukrainians on Independence Day: Ukraine is Europe

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day, emphasizing that Ukraine is Europe.

Von der Leyen’s video message was posted on her page on the social network X.

"Europe will always be at Ukraine’s side, because Ukraine is Europe. Your freedom is our freedom. Your security is our security. We've been standing with you since day one. And we'll continue to do so, for as long as it takes," the President of the European Commission said.

She also wished "our friends a proud Independence Day."
