Air defense eliminates three enemy missiles, 25 attack UAVs – Air Force
The Ukrainian air defense eliminated three enemy missiles and 25 out of 26 attack UAVs, Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk reported on Tuesday.
"As a result of anti-aircraft combat by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and electronic warfare units, 28 air targets were shot down: one Iskander-K cruise missile, two X-59 guided aviation missiles and 25 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs within Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Kirovohrad, Sumy and Chernihiv regions," the message says.
It is also reported that on the night of August 20, 2024, the enemy attacked with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Voronezh region, an Iskander-K cruise missile from Bryansk region, X-59 guided aviation missiles from the airspace of Kursk and Zaporizhia regions, as well as the 26th shock UAVs of the Shahed type (launch areas - Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeysk, Kursk - RF).
