USAID aid to Uzhgorod customs boosts import/export by 14,000 tonnes per month – U.S. Ambassador
USAID's support for the Uzhgorod customs border crossing point will increase import/export capacity by 14,000 tonnes per month, said US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink during a visit to the region.
"Proud that USAID's assistance to Uzhgorod Border Crossing Point will increase imports/exports by 14,000 tonnes a month. The eQueue system we're supporting reduces wait times for cargo trucks from 2 days to 2 hours. This, and new facilities, are increasing border efficiency," the ambassador wrote on social media.
Earlier, Brink mentioned that she made her first visit to "historic and innovative" Zakarpattia region. "Looking forward to seeing how our cooperation in this region is supporting the war effort and Ukraine's European future," she said.
Additionally, the ambassador met with Zakarpattia Governor Viktor Mykyta to discuss attracting investments, increasing renewable energy, and creating economic opportunities for Ukrainians to return home.
