Gas transit via Ukraine falls one fifth early May 2018
Transit of natural gas across Ukraine on May 1 through May 5, 2018 fell to 199.7 million cubic meters (mcm) a day compared with average 253.7 mcm in April 2018 and 252.2 mcm on May 1 through May 5, 2017.
According to data from PJSC Ukrtransgaz, on May 1, 2018, transit totaled 245 mcm, on May 2 – 181.2 mcm, on May 3 – 187.9 mcm, May 4- 194.4 mcm and May 5 – 190.2 mcm.
As reported, Ukraine in January-April 2018 reduced transit of natural gas through its gas transportation system (GTS) by 9.3% (2.825 billion cubic meters, bcm) compared to the same period in 2017, to 27.705 bcm.
In 2017, Ukraine increased natural gas transit by 13.7% or 11.257 bcm, to 93.457 bcm.
Ukrtransgaz, 100% owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of trunk gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities of the country.
