Ukraine needs to start export lending to strengthen its positions in foreign markets – Klimkin
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has said that the Ukrainian state needs to start active export credit to strengthen the position of Ukrainian goods on foreign markets.
"How many years have we been talking about export credit? There is no way forward in some countries without this," he said in Kyiv on Monday at a press conference on the results of Ukrainian diplomacy in 2017 and priorities for 2018.
The minister noted that it is necessary to promote Ukrainian business.
"It is business that should determine our priorities abroad, or within the framework of public-private partnership. And we are working on it now, including in other forms," Klimkin said.
As reported, Ukrainian exports in 2017 increased by 20%, said Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.
According to the estimates of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the establishment of such an institution will require UAH 346 million, of which UAH 200 million is budgeted for 2018.
