First ship with gas coal from U.S. arrives in Yuzhny port - DTEK
A first ship with gas coal from the United States has arrived in the Yuzhny port (Odesa region), the press service of DTEK energy holding has reported.
"The first bulker has delivered 75,000 tonnes of coal to the Yuzhny port. Before the heating season we bought 150,000 tonnes of gas coal in the United States in addition to coal made at own and state-owned coalmines… Thus, we will be confident that it will be enough coal for TPPs [thermal power plants]," DTEK wrote on its Facebook page.
As reported, DTEK signed a contract with XCoal Energy to supply 150,000 tonnes of gas coal from the United States. The negotiations to expand the volumes of coal purchase are underway.
DTEK failed to buy gas coal in Poland, as it was done before, as now Warsaw is importing coal from Russia.
