The Economic Court of Kharkiv region by its ruling dated June 9, 2017 opened a case on the bankruptcy of PJSC Football Club Metalist, controlled by fugitive Serhiy Kurchenko.
According to a report on the website of the Higher Economic Court of Ukraine, Yevhen Yakovlev was appointed property manager. The deadline for submitting applications on creditors' monetary claims to the debtor is 30 days after the official publication of the announcement on initiating a bankruptcy case.
As reported, FC Metalist is a multiple winner of the football championship of Ukraine, in particular, once it ranked second, seven times ranked third. In 1988 it won the USSR Cup.
In December 2012, VETEK Group of Serhiy Kurchenko reached an agreement on the acquisition of FC Metalist from businessman Oleksandr Yaroslavsky, who resigned from the post of club president.
