Infrastructure Ministry simplifies certification of cars made not in EU
Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure has agreed the possibility of certification of alternative technical requirements for an individual approval of wheeled vehicles, which are produced in countries not being EU members.
The corresponding decision is fixed in the ministry resolution dated November 18, posted on its website.
Certification authorities will be provided with the conclusions of the technical service on the possibility of applying such regulations.
"That means now it will be possible to import cars from the United States to Ukraine, without changing glass, seat belts, etc. (light is to be only put in order a little bit)," VAAID CEO Oleh Nazarenko wrote on his Facebook page.
As reported, a working group was established at the Ministry of Infrastructure to work out the issues arising in connection with the problem of vehicle certification (including electric cars) manufactured not in the EU, which led to the blocking of imports of used cars primarily from the United States.
