Economy Ministry estimates cost for setting up export-credit agency at EUR 200 mln
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine estimates the cost of establishing an export-credit agency at about EUR 200 million and admits involvement of international financial assistance for this purpose.
"The cost of creating the credit agency in Ukraine is estimated at approximately EUR 200 million," Ukraine's trade representative Natalia Mykolska said during the 16th International Economic Forum in Lviv.
According to her, now the government is consulting with the MPs on the adoption of a bill at second reading, which provides for the establishment of such an agency. After the bill is passed, funds for the creation of the agency could be raised from international donors to special funds of the national budget, she said.
As reported, in late April this year Mykolska reported that the export-credit agency could be created in 2017 if funding for this project is foreseen in the national budget. According to her, six or nine months will be required from the moment of setting up the export-credit agency to providing first services.
