Mykolska will discuss removal of Ukraine from under protective duties on metal goods with U.S. state authorities

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Ukraine's trade representative Natalia Mykolska during a working visit will discuss withdrawal of Ukraine from under the protective duties on metal products with the representatives of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Office of the United States Trade Representative and the U.S. Department of State, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade said on its website.

"The main theme of the planned bilateral meetings is the exclusion of Ukrainian metallurgical products from the effect of restrictive measures imposed by the United States," it said.

The press service of the ministry said last year Ukraine exported metal products worth $175.6 million to the U.S., goods for $89.7 million in 2016, and $119.6 million in 2015.

"These are flat and long products, pipes, semi-finished steel goods," the ministry said.

As reported, on March 23, 2018 U.S. duties of 25% on steel imports and 10% on aluminum imports came into effect.
