Finance ministry: Ukraine's position on status of $3 bln eurobond debt to Russia defined in court
Ukraine has expressed its position on the status of the debt on sovereign eurobonds worth $3 billion, held by Russia, in a judicial process being conducted in the UK, according to the website of the Finance Ministry.
"Ukraine has clearly stated its position on the alleged "Russian debt" in the trial. At the same time, Ukraine sticks to its integrity commitment to the International Monetary Fund in this regard," the report says.
The Ministry of Finance said Russia under different circumstances makes different statements about this.
"Yesterday, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov reiterated the clear position of Russia that the latter regards the alleged "Russian eurobonds" as a sovereign bilateral debt. This contradicts statements made by Russia's trustee at its request and in its interests in litigation in the UK," the ministry said.
