DTEK sees rise in coal stocks by almost one third since early Oct
DTEK energy holding since early October has increased coal stocks at warehouses of thermal power plants (TPPs) by 173,000 tonnes, to 792,000 tonnes, DTEK Energo Generation Director Serhiy Kurylenko told reporters on Thursday.
"Since early October our warehouse stocks were expanded by 173,000 tonnes. Now they store 792,000 tonnes," he said.
Kurylenko said that at present DTEK's TPPs burn 50,000 tonnes of coal a day on average. Around 65,000 tonnes of coal arrive every day to their warehouses.
He said that taking into account the delivery pace, as of November 1, 2016, the company would form stocks at its warehouses that will meet the plans of Ukraine's Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.
DTEK anticipates that coalmines of the holding would increase coal production by 3.5 million tonnes in H2 2016 meeting the needs of power and heat generating companies.
