Fuel price rise by UAH 1 per liter at WOG, OKKO, Shell, SOCAR unjustifiable – competition agency
The increase of fuel prices by WOG, OKKO, Shell and SOCAR by UAH 1 per liter on March 19 through March 21 is unjustifiable, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has reported.
"The prices of light fuel of the above-mentioned operators are the highest in Ukraine. They exceed indicative prices calculated by the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry. They are not correlated with changes of unbiased factors influencing on the cost of fuel," the committee said.
The committee said that WOG, OKKO, Shell and SOCAR use the practice of setting and maintaining similar prices. This restricts competition.
"The committee on January 22, 2016 started hearing a case with signs of violation of legislation on protection of economic competition by WOG Retail LLC, OKKO Naftoproduct private enterprise, Alliance Holding LLC, Socar Petroleum LLC and Parallel-M Ltd," the committee said.
